LUYCSD – Protecting Lives, Restoring Dignity, and Giving Youth a Future

Across Liberia, too many young people are falling into drugs. Too many women and children face abuse or are taken across borders with no protection. And too many families suffer quietly because they do not know where to seek help.

At LUYCSD, we decided we would not wait for funding before acting.
We started with what we had.

Between 2022 and 2024, from our small community budget, we allocated USD 7,000 out of our USD 15,000 internal fund to begin awareness and training. We went into communities that needed us most — sometimes walking, sometimes using borrowed motorbikes — just to reach people who are often forgotten.

And even with little, we achieved a lot.

What We Have Already Achieved (2022–2024)

Community Reach

  • 12,430 community members reached through awareness talks

  • 41 towns & communities visited across Montserrado, Bong, Nimba & Margibi

  • 22 school campaigns held with students, teachers, and parents

Human Rights Support

  • 129 survivors of abuse referred to legal/medical/social services

  • 312 families guided on rights, safety, and reporting mechanisms

  • 54 community leaders trained to identify and report violations

Anti-Drug Abuse Work

  • 3,840 youth & young adults reached in drug-affected communities

  • 650 youth leaders trained to become peer educators

  • 71 individuals referred for counseling or recovery assistance

Anti-Human Trafficking

  • 16 border-risk communities engaged

  • 2,100+ people educated on signs of trafficking

  • 35 at-risk children and youth identified and supported

These results were made possible without external funding.
We used our limited resources carefully and transparently confirmed in our 2022–2024 audited financial reports.

But the Need Is Still Much Bigger Than Our Capacity

Many communities still have no access to awareness, no youth safe spaces, and no support for victims. Drug use is increasing. Trafficking routes are expanding. And families are struggling to protect their children.

How Donor Funds Will Be Used

Your support helps with:

  • Transportation for field visits

  • Training materials and awareness tools

  • Counseling, referral, and survivor support

  • Radio programs and community theater

  • Youth leadership and mentorship activities

  • Documentation, monitoring, and reporting

Every activity is recorded. Every dollar is accounted for.
Our yearly audits remain open to all donors for transparency.

Why Donors Can Trust LUYCSD

  • We already used 7,000 USD of our own funds to begin this work.

  • Our audited financial reports (2022–2024) confirm clean financial management.

  • We deliver impact with small budgets — we know how to stretch resources.

  • We work directly in communities, not from far away.

  • Our team is made of youth, women, and volunteers from the same communities we serve.

You are not just supporting a project, you are helping protect a child, rescue a youth from drugs, stop a trafficking attempt, and give a survivor a chance to rebuild their life.
